Vidya (Tibetan: rig pa རིག་པ། Sanskrit: विद्या) is a Sanskrit word that means self-knowledge, or awareness. More precisely, it refers to knowledge gained through dedicated self-study. In order to free our habitual tensions, we must change our self-perception. To accomplish this we must turn our attention inwards.
Based on years of research we have created courses that draw from traditional Tibetan and yoga lineages as well as Western Medicine and Somatic education systems to present a fully embodied approach to meditation and movement practices.
One thing is clear, everyone must find their own path to happiness and well-being. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to life. At Vidya Method we understand that everything is continually changing and this also goes for people’s needs and abilities.
We are not just a “drop-in” yoga studio, but instead we seek to foster growth from years and years of dedicated study. Yoga, Tai Chi/Qigong, and Meditation are all serious endeavors that require a lifetime of practice to begin to gain their benefits. We are here to share the practices that we found and hope to share with you on your journey. We encourage you to browse our site and find the classes that appeal to you.
